Cookies and local storage
Animey sets only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and to remember your choices. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it, and there are no advertising cookies.

1. Essential cookies
These cookies make the service work, so they are always on. They are set by Animey, sent only to animey.ai and never used for advertising.

2. Your analytics choice
When you answer the analytics banner, we store your answer in a cookie for 180 days so that we do not ask again on every page. Declining sets no other cookie.

3. Google Analytics
If you accept analytics, your browser loads Google Analytics 4 from Google, which sets the cookies below to count visits and measure how Animey is used. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics cookie exists; Google's sign-in script, where it is offered, is described in section 5. Google's advertising features and Google signals are off, Google Analytics does not store IP addresses, and its data is kept for 14 months. The privacy policy lists the events we measure.

4. Local and session storage
Your browser also keeps some data that is never sent to us on its own:
- in local storage, your light or dark theme;
- in local storage, the Voice Design candidates you discarded for each character, so that they are not offered to you again;
- in local storage, and only when analytics is on, a note of each one-time analytics event this browser has sent, so that it is never sent twice: one per series created, character version approved, generation or render, and one per sign-up, named after a random reference made for that sign-up; these notes never leave your browser;
- in session storage, drafts of forms and the keys that stop a request from being sent twice.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
5. Cookies of other companies
Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages. Where sign-in with Google is offered, the Continue with Google button on the sign-in and sign-up pages takes you to Google's own pages, where Google sets its cookies, and no Google script runs on our pages for that button; but on the home page, if you are not signed in, Google's one-tap sign-in prompt loads Google's sign-in script from Google, whether or not you have accepted analytics. Your browser then connects to Google, which can read and set its own cookies, including one called g_state on animey.ai that remembers that you closed the prompt. Google's privacy policy applies to what it collects. Episodes play from our own storage, not from a third-party video player.
6. Changing your choice
To change your analytics choice, clear this site's cookies; the banner then appears again. Every browser also lets you list, block and delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies signs you out and stops sign-in from working.
